For 175 years, the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine have stood with Cleveland’s Central neighborhood, meeting people where they are, caring for the whole person and offering hope when it was needed most. Today, the needs are even greater for our neighbors with poverty, violence, trauma and limited resources. That 175-year legacy continues in a new way. The Sisters of Charity Health System is leading development of the St. Vincent Charity Health & Healing Hub. Located on the historic campus of the former St. Vincent Charity Hospital, the Hub is a network of neighborhood support to meet its most critical needs: health care, academic success, socioeconomic mobility, family engagement and basic needs. This being accomplished with the help of numerous partners, and by listening to residents, and seeking fundraising and investment opportunities. The Hub is more than a place. It’s a movement to address root causes of poverty, expand opportunity and build a more just, healthy and hopeful future for Cleveland’s Central neighborhood.
